How to Use the Marketing ROI & Budget Planner
Step 1: Planning (do this at the start of a year or quarter)
The most important step — set everything up correctly from the start.
Sheet: [MASTER] Campaign & Budget Planner
- List every campaign name you plan to run
- Set the "start month" and "budget" you'll use for each channel (Facebook, Google, etc.)
- Leave the "Target (Orders)" column blank for now
Sheet: Breakeven Analysis (calculator)
- Pick a key campaign from the dropdown
- Use the calculator to figure out "how many orders do I need to break even?"
Back to Sheet: [MASTER] Campaign & Budget Planner
- Take the "Target Orders" number from Breakeven Analysis and fill it into the "Target (Orders)" column for each campaign
Step 2: Recording Results (when a campaign ends)
When a campaign finishes, log the real outcome.
Sheet: Actuals Log (the ledger/database)
- Create a new row for the campaign that just ended
- Pick the campaign name from the dropdown
- Fill in the actual results: orders won, revenue earned, and the budget actually spent on each channel
Step 3: Analysis & Reporting (always available)
Once Actuals Log is filled in, all analysis sheets update automatically.
